The Watson Clinic Cancer & Research Center houses a collaborative group of oncology specialists working to enhance the quality and breadth of services for cancer patients, their families and the community. Opened in Spring 2003, the cancer center is a state-of-the-art facility providing complete patient care -- from radiation therapy to chemotherapy, clinical research, education, support groups and cancer screening activities.

- The Watson Clinic Cancer & Research Center is an inter-disciplinary approach to provide the most thorough cancer diagnosis, treatment and on-going care currently available. Your treatment plan will be directed by an experienced oncologist who will be joined by a medical team that includes oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, social workers, dietitians and other medical professionals and support staff as appropriate.
- Innovative national clinical trials and research studies are available right here in our own community. The Cancer Center conducts many cancer research activities on-site and participates with the most promising aspects of cancer research.
- Immediate access to the most advanced cancer imaging and treatment technology includes: Position Emission Tomography (P.E.T.), helical ultra-speed CT scanners, computerized aided detection of breast cancer, 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) which will improve cure rates while reducing side effects, high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy which administers high intensity irradiation directly into a cancer target over a few minutes with high success, and Mammosite Therapy, a new radiation/surgical technique approved by the FDA, which can reduce the duration of post operative breast treatment from 7 weeks to just 5 days.
