- IIC (Invisible in the Canal) hearing aids – these are the smallest hearing aids available. They are worn past the opening of the ear canal and is the most invisible of all the hearing aid options. These are best for those with a mild to moderate hearing loss.
- CIC (Completely in the Canal) hearing aids – these are also discreet and nearly invisible to wear. This is worn entirely in the ear canal with just a small portion of the hearing aid visible at the ear canal opening.
- ITC (In the Canal) hearing aids – these are slightly larger canal hearing aids which still offer discretion while accommodating a larger battery size than the CIC or IIC.
- ITE (in the Ear) hearing aids – these are the largest hearing aids worn in the ear. These would be appropriate for those who need to have a large battery size but still requires the convenience of an inside the ear fitting.
- RIC (Receiver in the Canal) or RITE (Receiver in the Ear) hearing aids – these are currently the most popular hearing aid size worn by most hearing aid wearers. This hearing aid style would still have the discreet look desired while being able to accommodate a larger battery for desirable hearing aid features.
- BTE (Behind the Ear) hearing aids – these are the traditional hearing aid set up with the earmold in the ear with a large hearing aid behind the pinna. This would accommodate the largest hearing aid battery sizes for greater power.
