diVa® FAQs

diVa® Laser Vaginal Therapy FAQs

How long does a procedure take?
A fast 3-5 minutes is typical treatment time.

How many treatments are recommended?
Your clinician will typically recommend a series of 3 treatments each administered 4-6 weeks apart, followed by annual maintenance treatments.

What do you experience during the treatment?
diVa® laser therapy is fast with minimal discomfort. A topical anesthetic may be applied for added comfort. You may experience slight pressure against the wall of the vagina during treatment, and some women experience increased sensitivity near the vaginal opening.

What do you experience after the treatment?
You may return to your daily routine with minimal to no discharge, spotting, or discomfort; however, you should avoid sexual intercourse or vaginal insertion for 48 hours. In some progressive treatments, your clinician may suggest a longer period of pelvic rest.

For whom is this treatment potentially best?
Women with concerns regarding laxity, leakage, or lubrication where estrogen has failed, there are contraindications to estrogen, they favor the convenience of office therapy with no downtime, or they simply prefer a non-surgical approach.

How to select your provider?
Be sure they offer other options to treat your complaints (estrogen, surgical correction, etc.); and what is their experience with managing patients with your symptoms.

diVa® Tyte FAQs

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments may vary from patient to patient. Your treatment plan will be personalized for the level of improvement you desire. A typical treatment plan is 5-6 treatments based 2 to 3 weeks apart.

What results should I expect?
Results vary from patient to patient. The diVaTyte treatment is recommended for patients who desire mild to moderate noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. Skin changes occur around the body’s skin remodeling process, which can take up to 4-6 months for full effects to noticed.

What should I expect during the treatment?
Energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid light pulses in a motion technique similar to a massage gently warming the vulvar skin. This typically takes 10-20 minutes.

What should I expect immediately after the treatment?
The warming sensation subsides almost immediately. You may experience some mild redness in the treatment area. A return to your normal skin color will likely occur within a few minutes to approximately one hour. Sometimes, the skin swells slightly due to the water in the tissue being heated.

Is there any post-treatment care?
Since this is a non-invasive treatment, in most cases you may resume regular activities following the treatment. This can include bathing, swimming, and sexual activity. Your practitioner will guide you if a particular activity should be avoided.
